Seating Engineer, Fremont, CA

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE preferred) with a minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive seating component and subsystem engineering, demonstrating technical aptitude from concept through release and launch for production and 3D modeling proficiency in CATIA v5.
  • Strong electrical wiring knowledge, understanding of layout and reading schematics, and use of CANalyzer.
  • Automotive engineering with seating experience, lightweight material is preferred (5-8years).
  • Experience managing suppliers for product development.

Responsibilities
  • Along with Tesla’s vehicle engineering team, you will design, release and launch seating components and subsystems which are aligned with program product profile with responsibilities to include:
  • Develop electrical functionalities in automotive applications (voltage, current draw, signal wires, sensors, switches, diameter requirements.)
  • Collaborate with body controller, wire harness, and electrical integration teams as needed.
  • Achieve customer-driven interior system targets for luxury, function, cost and weight.
  • Establish seating system architecture and functional feasibility.
  • Participate in the iterative process with the Tesla design/styling studio to deliver the optimal balance of form vs. function vs. cost.
  • Optimize designs with the appropriate analytical and physical assessments.
  • Complete and release seating components, sub-system and detail designs, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering where required
  • Utilize DFSS methodologies as appropriate during the design, validation and launch of the program

Unix Infrastructure L2 support Analyst, Montreal, QC

Requirements
  • Knowledge of Unix is required to be able to understand the Co. Unix environment and the tasks performed by our Unix L2 team
  • Understanding of SAN and NAS technologies
  • The ability to lead investigations of issue that arise and also review root cause analyse performed by L2, along with being able to perform actual root cause analyse where required
  • Good communication skills is required, as the role involves not only working with our Managed Service teams management but also our customers within Co.
  • A level of Business analyse is an advantage, as the role also requires reviewing and investigating Unix metrics on a monthly basis, checking where potential issues can arise and where improvements can be made
  • Good Presentation skills is required to review and present the monthly reports to ECRMT and L3 Management

Team & Role
  • Part of the Enterprise Computing Resource Management Team (ECRMT) who oversee the contract with our outsource partners who provide a managed service for our L1 and L2 teams across EC.
  • Specific focus on the Unix L2 team, who are approx. 80 SAs based in Bangalore, India and Halifax, Canada, who perform approx. 350 service catalogued tasks across Unix, storage and virtualization and have a throughput of on average 6,000 man hours of work per month
  • Work with the global Unix and Storage L3 teams to investigate escalation data and work with both Unix and Storage L2 and L3 Management teams to streamline processes and update L2 Procedures.
  • Identify areas within Unix and Storage L2 to improve business results.
  • Occasionally work directly with Unix, Storage and Virtualization engineering teams to fix procedural issues and stream line tasks



Experienced FIX Engineer, Montreal, Canada

Role Summary
Experienced FIX Engineer with proven track record in Client FIX Connectivity support for Cash Equities/Futures and Options.
The role includes:
·         Problem management
·         Implementation of new client connections
·         Implementation of new vendor systems
·         Certification and Testing of client and vendor systems
·         Day to day system management

Problem Management
·         Provide first line support of FIX environment
·         Be the first point of contact for clients with regard to IT issues
·         Take ownership of issues and liaise with other teams as appropriate: IT Support; development; external vendors; trading desks; clients IT
·         Provide clear and concise communication to clients and internal business groups to ensure all parties are informed
·         Develop an in depth understanding of the key system dependencies for end to end client order flow including booking
·         Ensure all problems are logged and daily reports are published

Implementation of new client connections
·         Provide clear definition of requirements for new Client Connections.  May involve discussions with the client (usually their IT department) and the Client Connectivity Business within MS
·         Implement, support, document and maintain DMA, Algo, Drop-copy, FIX Allocations and Worked Order flow, from UAT to production
·         Reconcile above electronic flows across all available derivatives exchanges post outages and/or issues Exchange GUI’s or by direct contact with exchanges and/or external brokers
·         Experience to work with clients on many levels, from advising and helping client traders with specific techniques or questions they may have with regard to Futures and Options
·         For more complex implementations, a proposal will need to be produced on how the connections should be implemented.  This will involve discussion with the Client Connectivity Development teams and other IT groups to ascertain the options
·         Hands-on experience of using and training clients on Fidessa FTW and FDA
·         Maintaining all the risk limits for all clients across our Trading platforms and exchange GUI’s
·         Proactively monitor client trading flow to proactively identify and fix issues
·         Support and assist in post-change testing over weekends and evenings, where appropriate
·         Prioritizing changes that are required from a business perspective, and driving these changes through to successful completion
·         Facilitation of Compliance, Internal Audit and/or Operational Risk investigations and requests
·         Configuration of the FIX infrastructure to enable the Client connection.  Liaison with other IT groups may be required to configure other systems
·         Complete any internal testing where new configurations are required
·         Support the Client during UAT testing where appropriate.  This usually involves dealing with their IT departments
·         Manage a rolling program of new Clients connections.  This will involve close liaison with the Business to ensure priorities are defined and issues raised.  Progress on all new Client connections should be documented and reported regularly

Implementation of new Vendor Systems
·         Liaise with the Vendor with regard to the FIX specifications/configurations supported
·         Configure the UAT FIX systems and complete conformance tests
·         Raise issues with Development and/or the Vendor if additional functionality is required
·         Manage the migration into production
·         Manage the ongoing relationship with the Vendors

Day to Day System Management
·         Be aware of all changes being made on both the systems directly supported and on key systems that the Client Connectivity Business relies on
·         Amend existing configurations on the FIX systems to meet Client requirements
·         Ensure all change procedures are adhered to
·         Capacity management on the systems to ensure that adequate headroom is available

·         Input into regular service metrics produced for the systems supported

Windows Desktop Infrastructure Specialist, Montreal, QC

This position is for a Level 3 Windows Desktop Infrastructure Specialist who will support our global plant consisting of 180,000+ Windows desktops, laptops and virtual PCs. This opening is for either General Infrastructure Support or Productivity Application Support as described below.
We collaborate with internal teams (engineering, IT security, application developers, desk-side support) and third party vendors to resolve complex technical issues. Our services include incident, problem and change management, drift management and we are responsible for the health of the PCs. We distribute the core Windows build, manage security patches, support the software distribution platform, maintain PC configuration settings and provide reporting on the Windows environment.
We develop scripts and other forms of automation to solve problems within the enterprise desktop computing space. This includes creating and maintaining our own monitoring and reporting tools. The team provides global coverage for incidents 24/7 in a follow-the-sun model. Team members are required to cover for escalations on one weekend every few months.
Our support is comprised of two major areas:

1. General Infrastructure Support:  Microsoft Windows operating system, VMware ESX, Citrix XenDesktop, OpenAFS, Tivoli Endpoint Manager (BigFix), SCCM, Splunk, AppSense Environment Manager and internally developed tools.

2. Productivity Application Support: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Lync, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Flash Player, Silverlight and internally developed plug-ins for Microsoft Office. Ability to interact with VIPs is essential.
