Looking for Infrastructure Architect, NJ


Primary Responsibilities
Role Specific
  • Create infrastructure architecture designs that support GTS products
  • Provide guidance and leadership by reviewing and critiquing architectural designs within their span of control
  • Continually build upon existing technical competencies to provide technical leadership to the organization
  • Ensure high availability, recovery, performance, monitoring and operations design is incorporated across all covered products
  • Work with other policy and standards owners to develop plans/roadmaps for future technologies and directions
  • Understand processing and capacity requirements and establish an architectural approach for to meet agreed service level expectations
  • Understand, define and establish an architectural approach to meet privacy and confidentiality requirements, which include:
  • Define any and all requirements that could influence hosting decisions based on data privacy or confidentiality
  • Define requirements that could lead to a distributed data solution
  • Responsible for server hardware, OS storage and build specifications - including load balancing and clustering including:
  • Define hardware sizing to meet application requirements and associated capacity requirements
  • Design load balancing and clustering requirements/solutions as per architecture standards
  • Execute and implement defined standards and best practices as agreed through the GTS Enterprise IT Architecture process, which includes application, infrastructure, data and security requirements
  • Collaborate and lead initiatives with the CTO Applications Infrastructure Architecture team in the building of business plans, strategic directions, standards, processes, and procedures Create, present and support architectural designs before the Architecture review board
  • Support and co-leadership of tech. deployment activities for the program, including operational readiness activities, consulting advise for infrastructure and operations activities and leading practices within a member firm, and development of and delivery of learning materials to member firms
  • Provide "level 3 support for member firms that have deployed DA portfolio of applications.
Technical Skills
·         Proven experience and demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and deploying applications level Infrastructure solutions to support global applications in a Microsoft-oriented computing environment
·         Extensive and substantial practical experience as well as applied knowledge of general infrastructure components and techniques. Must be more than capable of providing professional advice and guidance to other technical and business professionals. The following technologies or disciplines are, but not limited to:
  • .Net, SQL, Java, WebSphere, IIS
  • System sizing and configurations
  • Server Load balancing
  • Clustering/HA
  • Storage
  • Virtualization
  • Performance management
  • Troubleshooting
  • Capacity Analysis
  • Security architecture concepts
  • Infrastructure and application monitoring, capacity management
  • Experience integrating existing technology, as well as driving new technologies into an architectural design for a given system or systems
  • Familiarity with application development architectures, asp.net, WCF, Web services, and Azure
  • Experience in driving, and charting the course for large scale technology deployments as well as global communications and tracking
  • Solid understanding of enterprise IT technologies in network, storage, virtualization, hosting and cloud
  • Proven experience designing solutions that utilize database technologies, especially Microsoft SQL Server 2008+
  • Familiar with general architecture, operations, and deployment methodologies and techniques (e.g.: TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL, MOF, etc.)
